netiqcloudNetIQ is shipping NetIQ Cloud Manager 2.0 so service providers can respond to the consumerization of IT by aligning IT with business priorities and deliver workloads on-demand across the data center and both private and public clouds.

The updated NetIQ Cloud Manager 2.0 is also designed to allow service providers to allow customers to support a scalable, managed and controlled cloud for public, private, or hybrid clouds, including configurations that include multiple hypervisor platforms.

NetIQ Cloud Manager 2.0 helps service providers efficiently manage the various service demands. It also improves their ability to successfully meet the needs of their users by managing the IaaS experience while granularly controlling resource allocation, said Tom Cecere, NetIQ’s director of product management for cloud solutions.

NetIQ virtualization and cloud management solutions are designed to address each stage of an enterprise virtualization or cloud project – from initial virtualization adoption to development, deployment and management of a mature private/public/hybrid cloud model, Cecere added.  NetIQ’s solutions aim to help both enterprise IT and MSPs efficiently meet IT service requirements.

NetIQ Cloud Manager’s updated iOS mobile app support for Apple iPhones and iPads allows users to conduct all major steps needed to build and manage a cloud computing infrastructure. From a single mobile client interface, users can manage business services, workloads and resources.  Mobile users can actively manage SLAs, service requests, workload templates; copy, configure, update and delete workloads; generate reports – and all on a per user, business group or enterprise-wide basis.

Other key features of NetIQ Cloud Manager 2.0 include:

Scalability: NetIQ Cloud Manager can scale to manage over 100,000 workloads

Easy, Configurable End User Experience:
Automated and extremely fast delivery of services through multi-tenant environments means IT service providers have to answer fewer service calls.

Self-Service and Business Workflow: Application architects and other IT consumers can shop for new workloads and/or business services, modify them as needed (and permitted), and see how much they’ll have to pay. This lets business leaders approve costs for services/solutions that fit with their business priorities.

Extended Integration:
NetIQ Cloud Manager integrates seamlessly into existing IT infrastructures. It supports a number of virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere, Xen- or KVM-enabled SUSE Linux Enterprise Servers, Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Hyper-V.

One customer found the update value to his customers and his MSP business model. “While this delivers significant cost savings to our customers, it is also a critical differentiator for the services we deliver,” said Richard Vester, executive head of hosted services at Vodacom Business Services, in a statement.
